My Sonic Producer Review
My Sonic Producer Review
I purchased Sonic Producer on Aug 18th, 2011 to give this popular beat-making application a try. It’s actually one of the best-selling online beat making applications available for purchase today, so needless to say I was very curious to see if it lived up to the hype.
Sonic Producer Important Stats:
Price: $29.99 (this is for the gold membership. If you want all the extra fun bells and whistles you need to upgrade to platinum, which costs $97.99). I chose the gold membership, might upgrade to platinum later.
Included with purchase:
- Access to their members’ only website, which has all the goods
- The beat-making application (it is embedded on their website, it is not something you download to your computer)
- Tutorial videos. They have a ton of different tutorial videos, covering everything from how to make your first beat to making eastcoast beats to making club bangers and a bunch of other beat-making intricacies
- Pre-made beats and samples. There are about 20 different premade beats and samples that you can download and use.
- Support via email
Format of product: This is a digital product, which means NOTHING gets shipped to your door! Do not expect that! After you pay you are given instant access to their website, which is where the beat-making application and everything is.

Make a Club Banger Beat With Sonic Producer
In this video, Justin walks you through the process of making a sick club banger beat. Wish I could say I’m cranking out beats like this too, but I need more practice!
What I liked about Sonic Producer
- Sonic producer is very easy to use. I had no previous experience with mixing samples and making beats, but after watching a 10 minute tutorial video and messing around with the application myself, I had the process figured out. Not to say the beats I was making were actually good, but they were beats nonetheless! I need many more hours of practice before I’m making good beats! But, that shouldn’t be too hard, I’ve found beatmaking to be quite addictive!
- You have a TON of sounds and instruments to choose from. There are hundreds and hundreds of different sounds and instruments available in the sonic producer beat-making application for you to pick from when you are making your beats. It would take me a very long time just to try them all out. I’ll admit, I was bit overwhelmed with the amount available, because I had no idea what any of them sounded like! Felt Like I needed to try each one out before I started making beats. I assume if someone who had some experience with making beats checked out the list of sounds, they would be much more comfortable with it because they’d recognize sounds and instruments.
- The tutorial videos are very helpful. The videos show you exactly what you need to know to start making beats of your own if you’ve never had experience (Like me). But, if you are a more advanced user, there are some videos that I think would be cool for you too. Like, how to make beats on the Korg M3, resampling, recording audio into the program, rhythm, improv on the piano, and a bunch of others.
- Money-back guarantee. I’m always much more comfortable purchasing a product (especially a digital product like Sonic Producer) when I see that it has a full money-back guarantee. Sonic Producer is sold via a digital product marketplace called Clickbank, and every single product that you can purchase through Clickbank has a 60-day full money-back guarantee. So, if you don’t end up getting your money’s worth out of Sonic Producer, all you have to do is contact Clickbank within 60 days of purchase and they’ll get your money-back within a few days. I’ve returned Clickbank products before, and the process is painless and you have your cash back in no more than 3 days after you request a refund.

What I Would Change About Sonic Producer
- One thing that I wasn’t thrilled about with Sonic Producer had to do with the sound and instrument samples. There are soooo many available, which is a great thing. But, you don’t know what one sounds like until you actually select it and put it on your track. I’d like to see the ability to preview a sound as your browsing through the sound library, know what I mean? That way, you could browse, preview and listen to samples before actually choosing one. It’s not like it’s a huge deal they way it’s set up right now, it doesn’t take long to select a sound and/or switch it out for another one. But, I’m big on time efficiency, and having a sound preview ability would be more efficient.
- As a beginner, I think it would be a cool idea to have some sort of guide as to what kind of samples sound good together, which ones don’t, some sort of guide. The tutorial videos are good for showing you how to use the application and some more advanced mixing practices, but I’d like to see a more basic overview of sound mixing, “sound mixing 101″. I know this suggestion would really only be helpful to complete newbs like me, but it’d be a nice added bonus if something like this was added to the Sonic Producer package.
Final Thoughts on Sonic Producer
Overall, I’d give sonic producer two thumbs up. It is simple to use, yet offers more advanced options for those who want to take their sampling to the next level. The support and training is adequate, and their sound library is huge. If you’re on the fence about purchasing Sonic Producer, I’d recommend giving it a try, I bet you will really like it. And like I said earlier, it does have a money-back guarantee, so if you end up not using it, just return it and get your cash back in your pocket. You got nothing to lose!
Alright, hope my overview and review of Sonic Producer has been helpful and given you some much-needed insight into this product. I enjoyed messing around with it and am gonna have to keep working on my beat-making skills, it’s a lot of fun! If you have any questions, drop me a line!

Wish I could take credit for these beats that were made with Sonic Producer, but I did not! These are some sample tracks that were made with Sonic Producer and come with your purchase. There are many more like these, just thought I’d throw a couple out so you can get an idea of what is possible with Sonic Producer.

Why choose to buy Sonic Producer? Well, the thing is, if you would like to make beats on your PC or Mac, no matter whether you want to make dance beats, rap beats or hip-hop beas, you’re going to have to install some very expensive audio software onto your computer. If you’re funds are limited, then it is going to be really hard to recreate the sounds, beats and hooks that you’re used to hearing on the radio, and that have been buzzing around in your head!
In the past, you were just kinda outta luck. Unless you were willing to spend a big chunk of change on an expensive piece of software, the beats were just going to stay in your head! But now, Sonic Producer has made it possible for everyone, even those on a limited budget, to make great-sounding, catchy beats and lines. The best part is, this application costs a fraction of what you’d have to pay for a professional beat-making software.
Sonic Producer’s sound library comes stuffed full of sounds and samples from all kinds of instruments that are perfect for making professional-sounding samples.
Another nice thing about Sonic Producer, is that is really easy to navigate and use, so those new to beat-making will not have a problem getting their bearings. There are plenty of tutorial videos that walk you through all the steps.
What I personally appreciated the most about the program, was the huge number of beats and riffs that were available for my selection in the music library. I felt more like a professional sound mixer with all of these options at my fingertips!
For example, there are plenty of thumping bass lines and snare samples for those who want to to make club-thumping dance tunes. And if are into hip-hop beats, you can choose from a huge selection of catchy hooks, beats and other sounds that are perfect for hip-hop.
You won’t be dissapointed in the sound quality either; all the sounds sound great.
The last thing I really liked about Sonic Producer was how easy it was to export my finished track in mp3 form to my computer. This made it simple to burn a CD or upload anywhere I wanted to online.
